When the Japanese firm Eisai Co Ltd developed a high-precision
inspection device, little did they know about the kind of challenges
and problems they would have to face. Besides pressure from
competitors and wanting to provide high-quality equipment, Eisai
wanted to adopt cost-effective manufacturing processes. The
company’s high aims and problems were successfully met
